What a fabulous week in the Lake District. We were treated to a snowstorm on Tuesday, which was hard work to photograph in but well worth the short walk around the North end of Derwent water, all of the pictures depict the amount of snow that was falling and by Lunch time I was very wet, my camera was misting up and by lens cloth was saturated.
Wednesday and Thursdays weather was cold but dry the sun was out and Derwent water looked stunning. We took some great drone images over Derwent water witnessed some very brave swimmers at Ashness stepping over the ice on the edge of the Lake to take a 5 minute swim.
Langdale Valley was the destination on Thursday & Friday. Thursdays weather was perfect allowing us to take images of Langdale pikes in sun with the snow on the ground. On Friday a short walk to Blea Tarn was tricky due to the ice on the ground, some spikes on my boots would have been welcomed. But the walk was rewarded by a friendly Robin that posed for us for 5 minutes allowing us to take some fabulous images that I hope to get up for sale soon.
